Blackbird by Sarah Mclachlan

Since I am a Sarah Mclachlan fan and all. I thought I’d feature the lyrics of one of the songs she made that relates to black – Blackbird.

For a bit of trivia before the song itself, blackbirds are birds most often found over the marshes and upland fields of most of North America. These birds are often dark in coloring, probably the reason why they were named as such. Anyway, here’s the song.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free

Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.
