The Saab Turbo X “Black Power”

At the 2007 International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt this coming September, European car fans will witness the rebirth of a Saab turbocharged model that was first launch in 1977.

As a part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Saab 99/900 turbocharged model, the Swedish automaker will bring back the time and release a special edition turbocharged model called the Saab Turbo X “Black Power”. The car is based on the current 9-3 platform.

The Saab Turbo X comes in all black exterior and will be available as a limited edition model. The car is equipped with a turbocharged power train system capable of, producing 206 kW/280 hp and pulls out a maximum torque output of 400 Nm, powering the car’s sophisticated four-wheel drive configuration. Saab said the Turbo X can sprint from 0 to 62 mph is just 5.7 seconds.

In addition, Saab will also present the new model range of the 9-3. After giving the 9-3 some interior enhancements for the 2007 model year, Saab now gives the 9-3 with new and more appealing exterior. The Saab 9-3 also features new design and technology advancements similar to the Aero X concept car.

Highlights of the new Saab 9-3 range include:

* Distinctive appearance with completely newly designed, unmistakable front, as well as new side and rear styling: Saab-typical headlamp zones with “eyebrow” look, clamshell-shaped hood, new bumpers, flared sill extensions and ‘frosted’ rear light design
* 1.9-liter turbo-diesel engine with two-stage turbocharger and 132 kW/180 hp
* Two powerful BioPower models (E85 Flex-Fuel) with 129 kW/175 hp or
